The American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST) is a national health care membership association of professionals dedicated to improving the quality of sleep and wakefulness in all people. It is our mission to promote and advance the sleep technology profession through continued development of educational, technical and clinical excellence in sleep disorders centers. The AAST works to preserve the autonomy of the sleep technology profession by leading more than 4200 members towards the achievement of educational, technical and clinical excellence. The AAST encourages the sleep technology profession to maintain the highest level of professionalism and honorable behavior, as stated in the
AAST Principles of Ethical Standards.

The AAST is committed to the advancement of the sleep technology profession and worked with the American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST), the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) and the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) developed nationally recognized job descriptions for the sleep technology profession.
To assist AAST members who are unable to attend the annual meeting of the association, a new scholarship program has been developed. The purpose of the AAST Scholarship Program is to offset the expenses associated with attending the annual meeting by offering complimentary registrations.
