New "Case of the Month" Online Learning Modules
American Association of Sleep Technologists
03/16/2012

The AAST, the leader in sleep technology education, has developed a new learning opportunity - "Case of the Month" - a series of online learning modules addressing a variety of issues affecting the sleep technologist. Each month a new module will give you the opportunity to review a case dealing with topics such as proper and improper titration, difficult decisions associated with split-night studies, and normal sleep study variants. Tips on scoring and reporting will be provided with each presentation.

The first case in the series deals with a split-night study. The narrated presentation focuses on preparation of the patient, the decision to split and appropriate titration. Samples from the sleep study are reviewed in detail, and the rationale for increases in pressure is explained. The actions of the technologist are critiqued in accordance with practice parameters and clinical guidelines. Review and purchase a 30-day access to the new Case of the Month learning module and earn 1.0 CEC. Do you have an interesting case that would make a good subject for a future "Case of the Month"? Submit your idea to OnlineLearning@aastweb.org.
