Associate's Degree in Polysomnography

AAST has partnered with Thomas Edison State University (TESU) to offer a special enrollment plan available only to AAST members. This is a special program for AAST members and an exceptional member benefit.

In addition to receiving college credit for the RPSGT credential, issued since 2006, TESU will accept college credits that meet program requirements that were received at any other regionally accredited college or university, nationwide and international. TESU also offers a number of non-classroom based methods of earning college credit. These options include testing and a prior learning assessment program. This means that you may be closer to completing an associate’s degree than you think!

CoA PSG

The Committee on Accreditation for Polysomnographic Technologist Education (CoA PSG) is a committee sponsored by AAST and Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT). Its main function is to review applications from programs that plan to provide certificate or associate degree education for polysomnographic technologists, guide applicants during the accreditation process and formulate accreditation recommendations which are then considered by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Graduates of accredited sleep technology programs are eligible for the registry examinations.

For more information about the CoA PSG, go to https://www.caahep.org/Students/Find-a-Program.aspx

Locate educational programs that meet the CoA PSG standards and guidelines and have been awarded accreditation by CAAHEP.

Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP)

The A-STEP program is BRPT Sleep Technology Approved Resource (STAR). It is one of several STAR-designated programs available to candidates to qualify for RPSGT and CPSGT exam eligibility. All applicants who are applying to sit for a credential exam that requires a STAR Designated Self Study Program, who are using the A-STEP Self Study Modules, must have completed the most recent edition of modules posted on their website within the last 5 years.
