AAST Scholarship Program

To assist AAST members who are unable to attend the annual meeting of the association, a new scholarship program has been developed.  The purpose of the AAST Scholarship Program is to offset the expenses associated with attending the annual meeting by offering complimentary registrations.  This initiative is primarily funded by the AAST Memorial Program.  The number of scholarships awarded will be determined based on the total amount of contributions received for this program . 

Application Process

To be considered, AAST members in good standing are required to submit a complete Scholarship Application by December 31, 2008. At its January 2008 meeting the AAST Board of Directors will review each application and award the 2009 scholarships. The 2009 AAST scholarship recipients will be announced in A 2Zzz, the Member Update and on the AAST Web site.

Application Procedure:

1. Download the Scholarship Application form.
   
   
2. A complete Scholarship Application must include:
   
   
   • Scholarship Application Form
   • A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s employer
   • A letter of intent from the applicant explaining why the scholarship is needed and what you hope to accomplish by attending the annual meeting.
   
   
   
3. A complete Scholarship Application must be received at the AAST National Office no later than December 31, 2008:
