Kennedy Krieger Institute is an internationally recognized institution located in Baltimore, Maryland dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with pediatric developmental disabilities through patient care, special education, research and professional training.
Kennedy Krieger’s clinical programs offer an interdisciplinary approach in treatment tailored to the individual needs of each child. Services include over 40 outpatient clinics; neurobehavioral, rehabilitation and pediatric feeding disorders inpatient units; and several home and community programs providing services to assist families.
We are seeking an overnight PSG/EEG technician for a small, specialized Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory for performance of all types of sleep disorder testing, as well as overnight EEGs. This job includes set-up and performance of nocturnal polysomnograms (PSGs), primarily on children.
Responsible for interactions with patients, parents, physicians and nursing staff. In particular, fully explaining procedures, calming fears, and providing a supportive test environment while obtaining high quality data.
Requirements:
• Working knowledge of polysomnography, full montage EEG, multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT), oximetry and administration of supplemental O2, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP and/or BPAP) studies, and the basics of sleep medicine
• Interest in or experience working with children and young adults with developmental disabilities
• Certified in Basic Life Support/CPR
• RPSGT or certified EEG technician a plus
