Ask The President: Why Is The AAST Having a CEC Sale?

Sleep Technologist Advice

ASK_THE_PRESIDENT_.pngWhat is the AAST CEC sale about?

In this week's Ask The President, AAST President Laura Linley explains the significance of  CECs as educational opportunities.

Our question for the week was: "Why is the AAST promoting its CECs opportunities with a discount campaign?"

About The AAST's First CEC Sale

Every five years it is required that you recertify your sleep credential.  Recertification is a best practice in all allied health fields.  Investing in continuing education and maintaining your competency year after year will assure that you meet the state and federal requirements for certification that allow you to practice in the sleep technology field.

For many, that recertification deadline is right around the corner.  The AAST is here to assist members to meet the requirements for maintaining their credential.  In an effort to promote professionalism and affordable education the AAST finds it important to remind members to take advantage of the FREE member CECs available every month and provide special pricing on numerous online learning modules on current topics of importance to sleep technologists.

The AAST Online Learning Center is a resource for sleep technologists, technicians and trainees to further develop and test their understanding of sleep, sleep disorders and sleep technology.  Members and non-members can purchase and view presentations on subjects such as the new AASM Scoring Manual, Secrets of Sleep Scoring and guidelines for working with patients to administer a home sleep test.  The AAST Online Learning Center also features online practice exams to test your understanding of the field of sleep technology.

It is our hope that this limited time special pricing offers extra support to assist our members to remain current in the field and meet the requirements of the re-credentialing process.

Is your credential current?  Is it time for you to recertify?
