Respiratory Event Related Arousals (RERAs) are occurrences sleep technologists may see during a patient's sleep study.Apneas and hypopneas can last anywhere from 10 seconds to over 2 minutes depending on the severity of the patient's condition, and it's important to note that RERAs do not meet the criteria to be called an apnea or hypopnea occurrence, however they do cause arousals.
