Meet Jon Atkinson, expert on arrhythmias

On Sunday June 12, Jon Atkinson, RPSGT, CCSH will present on how arrhythmias are affecting sleep center patients around the world.

About Jon

Jon Atkinson started his sleep technologist career in 1981 and became board certified in 1983.  He has served on the AAST board of directors as Director at Large from 1994-1996 and 2000-2006, President-elect 2006-2007, President 2007-2009, and Immediate Past President 2009-2010.   He also served as membership chair from 1997-2000 and as A2Zzz editor in 2007 and 2009-2010.  Jon has authored chapters in several sleep and sleep technology textbooks and written numerous articles in A2Zzz on cardiac arrhythmias.  He has spoken at numerous local, regional, and national meetings and has taught A-Step programs and technologist and physician review courses.  He was a recipient of Weitzman Award in 2003 and the McGregor Award in 2009.

Here is what Jon will present during Sunday's general track session on June 12 from 4:15pm - 5:15pm

Arrhythmias

Objectives:

  1. Provide an overview of normal ECG.
  2. Differentiate fatal and non-fatal arrhythmias.
  3. Review arrhythmias frequently seen in sleep.
