Each year, the AAST recognizes individual members for their professional excellence, service and commitment to the association and to the sleep technology profession. The AAST congratulates the following recipients of the 2015 AAST Awards:
AAST Leadership Award - Shalanda Mitchell, RST, RPSGT
For exceptional leadership qualities through commitment to the growth and development of the AAST.
AAST Service Award - Lisa Bond, RST, RPSGT
For making significant contributions to the growth and development of the sleep technology profession.
AAST Professional Development Service Award - Ahmed El-Gendy, RST, RPSGT
For demonstrating exceptional commitment to advancing education in sleep technology.
AAST Literary Award - Chad Whittlef, RPSGT
For an original published article, paper, or textbook chapter that represents excellence in technical literary writing by a sleep technologist.
AAST New Technologist Award - Taylor May, RPSGT
For a recent graduate of an accredited sleep technology education program who has passed the American Board of Sleep Medicine or Board of Registered Polysomnograhpic Technologists credentialing examination and attained the RST or RPSGT credential within the past one year.
