AAST 2016 Spring Course: Registration Deadline Extended

Join the American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST) for its 2016 Spring Course: “Risk Management in the Sleep Center.” If you haven't yet registered for the course, you are in luck. The AAST has extended the advanced registration pricing indefinitely. That means you can register up until the day of the course for only $275 for Members and $320 for Nonmembers. That is a total of $40 in savings. Register today to reserve your spot for the March 11-12, 2016 meeting in Louisville, KY.

Why Risk Management?

Medical threats represent a serious risk that can lead to material disruptions in the business of the sleep center and staff and to personal tragedies.  Understanding and addressing these and other risks requires skills that are often outside the core competencies of the organization. This course provides a series of lectures and workshops on how sleep centers can protect the physical integrity of their employees and manage risk as part of a robust business continuity planning process.

Why Attend?

An expert faculty will provide guidelines for risk reduction and being prepared to provide appropriate intervention. Participants will be prepared to:

  • Identify risk factors in the sleep center;
  • Assess patient acceptance criteria and accommodate patient needs to ensure a safe environment;
  • Develop a plan to review policies to ensure a safe environment and meet criteria for regulatory and accreditation agencies.
  • And much more!

What about CECs?

The American Association of Sleep Technologists has approved this course for 13 continuing education credits (CECs); an application has been submitted to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) for Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CRCE) contact hours for respiratory therapists. These credits can be used when recertifying your RST or RPSGT credential.

All participants requesting AAST CECs or AARC CRCE credits must return the credit claim form upon completion of the course. Please see the course brochure for more information.
