How to Register

The general registration fee for the AAST 39th Annual Meeting includes admission to AAST and SLEEP 2017 general sessions, AAST social events and the SLEEP 2017 exhibit hall. The required fees for attending SLEEP 2017 Postgraduate Courses, and Meet the Professors and Lunch Debate sessions are listed on the registration form. Registrations will not be processed unless accompanied by payment in full.

Registration fees are based on the date that the registration is received at the National Office.

On-site Registration

Registration will be located in Exhibit Hall Foyer of the Hynes Convention Center. Pre-registered attendees must retrieve badges and meeting materials at the registration desk. On-site registrations will also be processed at the registration desk. The registration hours are as follows:

Friday, June 2*             4:30pm – 6:00pm

Saturday, June 3        6:30am – 5:30pm

Sunday, June 4            6:30am – 5:30pm

Monday, June 5           6:30am – 5:30pm

Tuesday, June 6           7:30am – 5:00pm

*Registration on Friday is only for pre-registered attendees

Registration Confirmation

After registering for the AAST 39th Annual Meeting, registrants will receive confirmation via email. Please bring your confirmation notice with you to the meeting. If there are any concerns or discrepancies with your registration, this document will provide the information necessary to quickly resolve the complication.

Terms and Conditions

By submitting your registration for the AAST 39th Annual Meeting, you agree to the membership disclaimer, cancellation policy, photography/recording policy, participation disclaimer and ticketed sessions terms and conditions stated in the Membership Disclaimer Section.

Membership Disclaimer

To register as an AAST member, the registrant must currently be an individual member of the American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST). If the national office is unable to confirm that the individual is a member of the AAST, the national office will register the individual as a nonmember for all sessions at the prevailing fees. If you wish to become a member and take advantage of the membership benefits, you must submit your membership application at the time of submission of your registration form. The AAST membership application form is available online at www.aastweb.org.

Membership types are as follows:

AAST Member: Individual member of the American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST). 

Technologist: A sleep technician or sleep technologist who is not a member of the AAST.

Member: Individual member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) or Sleep Research Society (SRS) or dual member of both the SRS and the AASM.

Nonmember: A physician, psychologist or healthcare professional who is not a member of the SRS or AASM.

Resident/Postdoctoral Member: Individual member of the SRS or AASM who has received his/her terminal degree and is in a residency or fellowship program.

Student/Predoctoral Member: Individual member of the SRS or AASM who is pursing an undergraduate, masters or doctoral degree.

Resident/Postdoctoral Nonmember: Individual who has received terminal degree and is in a residency or fellowship program. In order to be eligible for this registration category, individuals must complete Section II.b. on the registration form. If Section II.b. is not completed, the APSS will register the individual as a nonmember at the prevailing fees.

Student/Predoctoral Nonmember: Individual who is pursuing an undergraduate, masters or doctoral degree. In order to be eligible for this registration category, individuals must complete Section II.b. on the registration form. If Section II.b. is not completed, the APSS will register the individual as a nonmember at the prevailing fees.

Guest Passes

A registered attendee may elect to buy a guest pass. Guest passes are for family members only and allow entrance to the exhibit hall, industry sponsored events and AAST sessions for auditing purposes only. Guests must be 16 years of age. List the first and last name of each registered guest on the registration form.

Cancellation

Notification of cancellation must be submitted in writing to the AAST. A $50 administrative fee will be withheld on cancellations postmarked on or before May 23, 2017. No refunds are possible after this date. If you are registered for the meeting and do not attend, you will not be provided a refund for not attending.  

Photography/Video Recording Policy

Photography and/or recording of any kind, other than by the AAST or registered press approved by the AAST, of sessions, speakers and the exhibit hall is prohibited. No cameras will be allowed on the exhibit floor or in the meeting rooms at any time. Violation of this rule could result in removal from the Hynes Convention Center and the confiscation of the film or recording device.

Participation Disclaimer

The AAST, its contractors and attending news media may be photographing or videotaping scientific sessions and events at the annual meeting. By attending the 39th Annual Meeting, attendees acknowledge these activities and agree to allow their image to be used by the AAST in association publications, on the meeting website and in marketing and promotional materials. Attendees at the AAST 39th Annual Meeting waive all claims against the AAST for any liability resulting from these uses.

AAST Responsible Behavior Policy

Recognizing the emphasis on networking opportunities offered through social events and the potential for alcohol abuse at such events, the AAST Board of Directors strongly encourages responsible behavior. Alcohol will not be served to anyone less than 21 years of age.

Ticketed Sessions

SLEEP 2017 Postgraduate Courses, Meet the Professor sessions, Lunch Debate sessions and Conversations with Experts require tickets for admission and have limited seating. It is highly recommended that you view the list of SOLD OUT sessions on the SLEEP 2017 website at www.sleepmeeting.org. Waiting lists are not maintained for SOLD OUT sessions.

Postgraduate Course Sessions

In order to register for Postgraduate Courses, you must be registered for the SLEEP 2017 general session. The APSS does not offer registration to only attend Postgraduate Courses. Space is limited, and Postgraduate Courses sell out quickly. For course descriptions and more information, please visit www.sleepmeeting.org.

Note: AAST CECs are not offered for postgraduate courses. Individuals must register for a Letter of Attendance to receive credits for SLEEP 2017 sessions.

Meet the Professor Session, Lunch Debates and Conversations with Experts

Lunch is provided at Meet the Professor and Lunch Debate Sessions. Meals are pre-selected with standard dietary needs in mind and cannot be substituted to accommodate special needs. In order to attend a lunch sessions, you must be registered for the AAST Annual Meeting. The AAST does not offer registration to attend only lunch sessions. These sessions have limited seating and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Advanced purchase of tickets is strongly encouraged. If using a paper registration form, please indicate your 1st – 3rd choices. If your 1st choice is full, we will register you for your 2nd or 3rd choices, if available. If none of your preferred lunch sessions are available, you will not be charged or you will receive a refund. Those attendees registered for the AAST Annual Meeting at the reduced training rate (i.e. Resident/Postdoctoral or Student/Predoctoral) may register for the lunch sessions at the member rate regardless of membership status.
