You can earn up to 19.00 AAST Continuing Education Credits (CECs) by attending the AAST 34th Annual Meeting general session in Boston from June 11-13, 2012, which will enable you to learn about the latest news, trends and developments in the profession. You also will receive access to the SLEEP 2012 exhibit hall, where you can get information about new advances in industry products and services. Registering for the meeting also gives you a variety of opportunities to network with colleagues, mentors and leaders in sleep technology and sleep medicine.
You also have the opportunity to register for one of four outstanding AAST Postgraduate Courses which will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012. These courses address key areas of the sleep technology profession where you can learn about new initiatives, get a refresher, network with leaders in the profession and earn up to 7.50 AAST CECs.
This year the AAST Postgraduate Courses are:
A01 -Scoring of Sleep for Sleep Technologists
Chaired by Amy Bender, Richard White and Harry Whitmore - This course is for sleep technicians and technologists seeking an overview and update on sleep scoring.
A02 - Developing Sleep Technology Education Programs
Chaired by Joyce Black and Timothy Ruse - This course is for technologists who are interested in developing an education program.
A03 - Managing a Sleep Center for the Sleep Technologist
Chaired by Mary Kersey and Ben Steele - This course is for current and future sleep center managers to learn about a variety of topics and discuss ways to compete and succeed in today's challenging environment.
A04 - Case-based Review of Sleep Disorders for the Sleep Technologist
Chaired by Allen Boone and Shalanda Mitchell - This course is for experienced sleep technologists and health care professionals interested in discussing novel, challenging cases, and billing and coding issues.
The course chairs have done a great job of putting together these courses and inviting key speakers that will share with you their unique experiences.
