Meet Dr. Malhotra who will discuss CO2 Monitoring 

On Tuesday,  June 14th, Atul Malhotra, MD, will be reviewing the influence of CO2 vs. O2 in normal respiration and will review CO2 monitoring.

About Dr. Malhotra

Dr. Atul Malhotra is the Division Chief of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine and Kenneth M. Moser Professor of Medicine at UC San Diego.

He is very involved in the leadership of the American Thoracic Society, the world’s leading professional organization for pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine.  He is the current ATS President for 2015-2016.  Dr. Malhotra is an avid researcher and prolific writer with more than 250 peer reviewed original articles and more than 150 reviews/chapters since coming on faculty in 2000.

His investigative interests include:

  • The pathogenesis of sleep apnea
  • The metabolic/cardiovascular complications of sleep disorders
  • Mechanical ventilation in acute respiratory distress syndrome

 

Here is what Dr. Malhotra will present during Tuesday's general  session on June 14th  from 10:15 - 11:15 am

CO2 Monitoring

Objectives:

  1. Illustrate the influence of CO2 vs. O2 in normal respiration; and
  2. Identify the controlling mechanisms for CO2 regulation.
